I can’t tell you how many truly amazing coaches come up to me and say something like…
“I’d love to coach high achievers, Ajit, but I don’t think I’m ready.”
“I want to be a high-performance coach but I’m scared I’ll screw up!”
“Coaching super successful clients is my big dream but I don’t have the right certification.”
If you’re drawn to becoming a high-performance coach, you need to get something straight right away…
High-performance coaching isn’t a special talent that belongs to a “chosen” group of gifted coaches.
You can become a high-performance coach even if you think you don’t have what it takes right now.
Yes, it’s normal to have fears and doubts around your big goal, but these shouldn’t stop you from going towards your dream.
One of my favorite quotes from Napoleon Hill is…
Your personal desire to become a high-performance coach is the fuel you need to make your dream a reality.
Like every coach on the planet, I started my journey to high-performance coaching with lots of doubts and fears about my skills and abilities.
I didn’t even think about working with high achievers because I didn’t believe I was cut out for it.
I’ve since coached countless high performers…
From Founders and CEOs to world-class entrepreneurs and investors.
These are people who aren’t afraid of going big. These are people who want the best in life.
These are people who hire the best coaches.
Over the years, I’ve realized that the most important first step in your journey to successful high-performance coaching is to make a clear, unbending decision to go for it.
This sounds simple but it’s the crucial factor that separates those who dream of working with high performers from those who actually make it happen.
I would have reached my own goals a lot sooner if I’d had more confidence and conviction in my goal to become a great high-performance coach.
And I want to help you fast-track your journey.
So, here’s what I want you to do…
If you feel it in your heart, if you can sense in your gut that you’re meant to be a high-performance coach, I want you to embody this truth by making a strong, conscious decision.
Right here, right now.
Say it loud, say it proud: “I’m ready to be an awesome high-performance coach!”
There you go… you’re done with the first step.
Desire and determination comes from you.
You’ll get the rest from this guide.
I’m sharing the mindset, strategies, tools, and techniques you need to rock high-performance coaching.
So, put your game face on…
It’s time to play!
What Is High-Performance Coaching?
A college professor journeyed to a wise Zen master’s home to learn about the art of Zen.
The master served tea while the professor shared his ideas.
As the professor talked, the master remained completely silent but continued to pour the tea.
He didn’t stop even when the tea reached the brim of the cup and began to overflow all over the table and then onto the floor.
The professor tried to ignore this but after a few minutes he could stand it no longer.
He yelled out to the master “Stop! Can’t you see the cup is full?”
Pointing to the cup, the wise Zen master calmly replied, “This is you. How can I show you Zen, until you first empty your cup?”
There are lots of rules, ideas, strategies, and definitions about high-performance coaching, but before you dive further into this guide, I want you to empty your cup.
Having preconceptions and expectations of yourself and your abilities at this stage will only hold you back from taking action to achieve your goal…
And that’s not what we want.
So, take a deep breath, clear your mind and let’s start with this simple question:
What is High-Performance Coaching?
It’s a category of coaching that’s focused on guiding, supporting, influencing, and inspiring high-achieving, high impact individuals who want the best from their life and work.
A regular coach helps clients identify what they want in their life or business. They help clients get clear on their vision and then support them on their journey.
A high-performance coach sees a bigger vision for their client. They guide their clients to hit their potential and then motivates and challenges them to go even further.
The keyword here is challenge.
It’s one of the biggest differences between high-performance coaching and all other kinds of coaching.
High performers love a challenge they’re not afraid to do what it takes live a big life.
A great high-performance coach understands this inner need - this drive - in their clients.
And so, they do more than support and guide…
They challenge clients to rise up to bigger, better goals again and again and this creates an awesome upward cycle of consistent positive, powerful results.
