Shiny object syndrome.

If you’ve been afflicted by this “condition”, you’re essentially someone who keeps chasing the next big thing…

And the next. And the next.

This is a dangerous cycle and it never ends because there’s always something new on the horizon.

Just like there’ll always be someone ahead of you…

Just like there’ll always be goals that feel out of reach…

And dreams that seem to dissolve every time you get close to them.

If you’re caught in this eternal loop, there’s a serious possibility that you will never get to the place where you can start to create real world results.

Why?

Because when you’re focused on something that’s ahead of you…

If your eyes, your heart and your energy are focused on something that’s outside of yourself...

You’ll feel like you need to do more or be more.

You’ll be stuck on the path of discovery.

Not on the path of achievement.

Or success.

Here are 3 unusual mindset reframes that will help you go from a place of wanting, needing and desiring…

To a place of creating and achieving success in your coaching practice and in your life - minus a whole lot of stress, frustration and anxiety.

Unusual Reframe #1: Stop Caring

I know this is going to sound radical or even ridiculous, but you need to stop caring so much.

You need to stop caring about how fast you’re moving forward with your business, how much you’re achieving in sales or how far you have to go before you get to be a leading authority in your area of expertise.

Here’s what you should do instead…

Focus on feeling as much joy as you can, doing what you do now. Bring your attention and your mind here to the present moment.

Do what needs to be done right now with as much enjoyment and fun as you can tap into.

What I’m going to say next may sound strange or even mystical but it’s happened countless times…

When you think about success in terms of how much joy you’re experiencing at any given moment, you’ll find that you’re able to get what you want much more easily and quickly.

Your dreams start to materialize. You begin to see your ideas come to life.

When you don't care so much about the revenue goals and sales targets and, instead, you’re immersed in the feeling of doing the work that you love as a coach…

You’ll find that you don’t have to go looking for success.

Success will find you.

Unusual Reframe #2: Goals Don’t Exist

Goals are mental constructs. They are in our minds.

They don’t really exist.

Think about that for a second…

The goal that you create does not exist in the real world. If it did, it wouldn’t be a goal…

It would be a tangible outcome or a result.

This is good news. If a goal is a construct of your mind, it means that you have 100% control over every goal.

You can move a goal closer or farther away.

You can shift it, redirect it or even let it go.

It’s important to know this because here’s the thing…

When you think of where you are now, in relation to your goal, you will always feel like you’re behind.

By nature, a goal is always ahead of you. It’s something you haven’t attained yet.

And this is a big reason why goals can make you feel like an underachiever.

Instead, here’s what I propose…

Compare yourself to where you were a month ago, 6 months ago or 2 years ago.

You’ll see how far you’ve come. You’ll be motivated and inspired by how much you’ve achieved.

This doesn’t mean you don’t create goals. It just means that you’re no longer looking at goals in a way that demotivates you.

When you can do this, you’ll be able to move toward them from place of strength and gratitude.

This is a peak state and it is a powerful force that will propel you higher and faster than you can imagine right now.

Unusual Reframe #3: Time Doesn’t Matter

Back when everyone worked in a factory, the concept of time was extremely structured.

There were workdays and weekends. Work hours and down time.

But when you run your own coaching practice, you get to set the rules.

Your business works based on what you want. There is no factory manager telling you to clock in and clock out.

You’re the boss. You get to choose.

When you look at time from this perspective, you’ll realize that it has no hold over you.

When you can do what you want to do when you want to do it, time is something that you rule.

Something that you own.

You are no longer a slave to it.

When you design your life and your business in a way that allows you to work at your highest level…

You become the master of time.

Don’t care so much.

Goals aren’t as important as you think.

Time doesn’t matter.

These reframes may seem counterintuive, or even strange.... But they work.
